Hello! I'm Amelia

A Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) student, product designer, and lifelong creator. While I spend plenty of time immersed in the technical worlds of Rhino and SolidWorks, I have always been pulled back to the physical making process. My practice is rooted in material exploration and form, but I have a special place in my heart for pattern making and textiles. I love exploring how a 2D print can transform a 3D object, adding layers of personality and storytelling to everything I create.

My passion for invention started early. When I was a preteen, I built a fully functional slime-making machine and even applied for a patent. Around that same time, I also had the opportunity to appear as a junior interior designer on Bravo’s TV series Minor Renovations. I have been creating ever since, and that early spark has evolved into a fascination with the behind-the-scenes magic of production. Whether it involves visual research or production coordination, I am drawn to the collaborative energy of film, photography, and campaign sets. I believe that even in the fast-paced world of production, there is always room to prioritize sustainable practices and intentional design.

Beyond the studio, I’ve designed promotional materials for Los Angeles artists and served as a board member for a youth arts initiative. I am currently seeking a summer internship in creative production where I can collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to blend art, invention, and a touch of play.

A litte more about me . . .

INDEPENDENT FILMS

I collaborate on independent film projects, contributing both in front of the camera as an actor and behind the scenes as a special effects makeup artist. Pictured here is the premiere of MAPS, a film in which I held a leading role and that went on to receive recognition at the San Francisco Film Festival.

THEATER

One of the many theater productions I worked on was The Earth is Flat. This is me on stage at The Other Space theater in West Hollywood.  I also assist with production and create promotional materials.

OCEAN LOVER

In my free time, I enjoy sailing and scuba diving. These hobbies have fueled my deep commitment to ocean conservation and sustainable practices. Pictured here, I’m exploring the cold waters of Catalina Island alongside the Garibaldi fish!

Once upon a time . . .

My background in design and production began on the set of Minor Renovations. As a junior interior designer for the Bravo series, I worked with a team of young makers to renovate living spaces. This formative experience sparked the love for on-set collaboration.

My First Industrial Design Project

Here is an invention I made when I was eleven years old: a Slime Maker Machine, for which I applied for a patent in 2016. This is my first prototype, made with a shoebox, tin foil, food dye bottles, and Tupperware.

Creative Practice

I find inspiration in the full spectrum of creative expression. This gallery highlights my work across various media by showcasing a blend of theatrical SFX and traditional fine art. Whether working with plaster, charcoal, or gouache, my focus remains on capturing detail and character through intentional material exploration.
