Hello!

I’m Amelia . . .

. . . A RISD sophomore, product designer, and lifelong creator. While I spend plenty of time immersed in the technical worlds of Rhino and SolidWorks, I have always been pulled back to the physical making process. My practice is rooted in material exploration and form, but I have a special place in my heart for pattern making and textiles. I love exploring how a 2D print can transform a 3D object, adding layers of personality and storytelling to everything I create.

My passion for invention started early. When I was a preteen, I built a fully functional slime-making machine and even applied for a patent. Around that same time, I also had the opportunity to appear as a junior interior designer on Bravo’s TV series Minor Renovations. I have been creating ever since, and that early spark has evolved into a fascination with the behind-the-scenes magic of production. Whether it involves visual research or production coordination, I am drawn to the collaborative energy of film, photography, and campaign sets. I believe that even in the fast-paced world of production, there is always room to prioritize sustainable practices and intentional design.

Beyond the studio, I have worked on web communications and designed promotional materials for artists in Los Angeles, which strengthened my ability to translate big ideas into clear, visually compelling materials. I have also served as a board member of a youth arts initiative, advocating for inclusive art education. These days, I am seeking a summer internship where I can support creative production and work alongside multidisciplinary teams. I find so much joy in the process of learning and collaborating, and I am always looking for new ways to blend art, invention, and a little bit of play.

Thanks for stopping by and being part of my journey!

Education

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)
Providence, RI
BFA Industrial Design

Exp Grad May of 2028

My work at RISD bridges design thinking with technical prototyping. I work fluently between digital tools like Rhino and SolidWorks and hands-on fabrication in wood, metal, and digital labs. I have a specialized interest in textiles and block printing, specifically how surface patterns can transform 3D forms. Current projects include chair design, spatial dynamics, and advanced metal and wood fabrication.

Class of 2024

Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA)
Los Angeles, CA
High School Diploma

I completed a conservatory-style program bridging fine art and performance, where I practiced storytelling through film, photography, and sculpture while studying acting and stage production. This training taught me the collaborative energy required to execute creative projects, whether on canvas or on stage. During this time, I also served as Yearbook Editor-in-Chief, managing production and designing the front and back cover.

Summer of 2023

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)
Providence, RI
Pre-College Program

Before enrolling as an undergraduate, I completed the intensive RISD Pre-College program. This experience was a deep dive into the rigors of studio culture, where I spent six weeks immersed in foundational drawing, design principles, and industrial design. It solidified my desire to pursue a career in the arts.
